Cross-platform Viewing
For end-users to
view catalogues, the system includes a cross-platform pure JAVA
applet, as well as a Windows
viewer. Both are provided as part of the system, along with web page
templates and other setup files, for royalty free distribution
(subject to Licensing).
visual|catalogues
Java viewer
This viewer is a
Java applet (60K) that is called from a web page, and allows single
or multiple catalogue collections that have been copied to your
Internet site to be accessed and searched
over the Internet on any Java enabled web browser on any system.
visual|catalogues
Windows viewer
This viewer allows
single or multiple catalogue collections to be accessed and searched
on any Windows platform (95,98, 2000, NT4) normally without
any installation or setup. The viewer can be set to access, view
and use data and files from a local hard drive, over a network, and
(soon) from an on-line source
The viewer can be
shipped with and will provide access to your catalogue(s) directly
off a CD-Rom or from a hard drive over a LAN (Local Area Network).
For example you can create an autorun CD or CD
Business card that will display your catalogue the moment it is
inserted in the users CD Tray
If required your
catalogue can also be installed on Windows systems with a
setup routine (setup.exe) that we can provide. Installation features
can include the addition of your catalogue to the Windows Start menu,
addition of a desktop icon and the facility to allow users to
install a catalogue, shipped by you on CD-Rom, to their hard drive.
A setup routine
can also be created for you to install your catalogue(s) as a full OLE
capable (server) application running from within and linking
directly to other Windows OLE capable applications, such as
AutoCAD. See below.
If you want to
create an installable catalogue, contact
us for more details.
virtual|catalogues
viewer
Turn your 2D
catalogue into a 3D virtual catalogue.
The system allows virtual|catalogues
to be created (or visual|catalogues
upgraded) to work interactively in the virtual 3D environment. virtual|catalogues
allows an end user (e.g. an architect or designer) to access all the
information of a normal visual|catalogue,
but also to use 3D representations of catalogued items such as real
products interactively in the 3D design environment. 3D
Representations can be complete with materials and finishes for
design visualisation. We believe this viewer to be the most
advanced of its kind. It includes special routines to deal with
different kinds of products in the 3D environment.
Product types
ideally suited to and supported by the system include:-
materials
such as
floor finishes:-
carpet, tiles, lino, vinyl,
wall finishes:-
paints, wallpaper,fabric,tiles,
fabrics for
furniture and surfaces
furniture,
fixtures and fittings of all sorts such as
tables, chairs,
light fittings,
kitchen systems,
fittings, and accessories,
office desking, etc.,
profiles
such as skirtings and cornices
We specialise in
creating special "virtual routines" to allow your products
to be used sensibly in the virtual environment. Contact
us for advice about your products.
