Technical
Notes
For good
reason the system makes use of
Internet Explorer modules for document (HTML) viewing, and movie and
image viewing, and therefore requires a full installation of
Microsoft Internet Explorer (currently IE5*) on the user's computer.
The
database container behind the visual|catalogues creator modules is
MS Access. This holds alphanumeric
records about entries, while all visual data such as images (jpg)
and movies (mpg,mp1,mov,avi) and all other files are copied
automatically from their source location to a named directory on your
system. Directories are set to reflect a category structure you set.
The
system is structured so that it can be linked to other SQL databases
if required, for example to MS SQL Server*, for very large or
existing databases.
